A poem about picking yourself up when you hit an all-time low then subsequently begin a long search to find someone…..
I began to look like a fool
My faked happiness only for show
Hiding behind that warm glow
Was a pain
A strain
On all areas
I struck it over a week ago
My wall
I decided to stand tall
To rise from the depths
Of my two pools
Of depression
And exhaustion
A visit to my GP
Unanchored me from
The sea
I am now embarking on the long road
To search for my long-lost pal
He is in there somewhere
My Wife will agree
He is lurking
Probably still smirking
Laughing
Awaiting to be found
My long-lost pal,
Me.

I’m not sure I can find adequate words to describe how moving this is. It makes me feel a little less alone with not finding myself
